Introduction
The Department of Civil Engineering has a total on campus student enrollment of about 420 undergraduate students and 250 graduate students. Right now, it has 24 full-time faculty members,19 adjunct professors and 19 part-time profesors who are all active in teaching and reaearch encompassing most areas of specialization includingĄG Mechanics and Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Material Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Water Resources Engineering, Surveying Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
The department has class advisors for undergraduate students, who could confer with their advisors for problems related to curricula, campus lives and career planning. The department staff could also offer teaching assistants, and after-class session for required courses. The family members of our students could comprehend the campus life of NCUCE via the open-house presentation.
Currently, the Department has become one of the largest in the field of civil engineering in the country and has earned national recognition for the breadth and depth of its research.
The Department of Civil Engineering offers graduate programs that lead to an M.S. degree and Doctor degrees in various areas. The Master of Science degree can be earned in two academic years. The doctoral program includes approximately two years of course work and one or more years for completion of the dissertation, but a qulification examination is required during the second academic year. etc.
