Center of Quality Assurance for Civil Material
Founded in January 1974, formerly known as the Engineering Materials Verification Group, it supports the verification of materials used in school construction projects, the analysis of materials related to research projects, and the cooperation in construction and education. Center of Quality Assurance for Civil Material includes the implementation of teaching, research, service, identification and seminars. The central laboratory includes: cement concrete laboratory, asphalt concrete pavement laboratory, subgrade soil laboratory.
Experimental Center of Civil Engineering, ECCE
Department of Civil Engineering has a recently-completed Experimental Center for Civil Engineering (ECCE) . This center has been known as one of the mwst important and the largest technological unit in Asia. the prime mission of this center is to comduct and facilitate academic researches on Structural Mechanics, Earthquake Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Fluid Dynamics. The center, as large as 6,500 square meters, is not only integrated with the most modernized studios and auditoriums, but also equipped with the most advanced instruments such as:100 tons and 25 tons actuators, 4 long span reaction walls, shaking table, teaction steel frame, large scale centrifuge, wind tunnel and large scale test-pit.
Center of Bridge Engineering Research, CBER
The Center for Bridge Engineering Research(CBER) , which has been highly supported by government engineering bureaus and private consulting companies, provides an inter-disciplinary analytical and practical research work. The goal of CBER is to integrate industrial experiences, governmental policies and academic studies. The associated research projects contain various fields of Civil Engineering, such as Geotechnical Engineering, Identification of Structural Behavior of Bridges, Evaluation of Bridge durability, Construction Management of Bridge Engineering,Development of Bridge Management System in Taiwan, and Seismic Hazard Analysis, etc.
Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research
The Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research, a prime research center, was established on July 1st, 1984 at National Central University. Its primary missions are in the research and teaching of space and remote sensing related sciences, and in the development of new remote sensing technology and applications. Currently, there are more than 110 personnel working at the center including: a director, chaired by one of the professors; a secretary; researchers that include professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and assistant researchers; technicians that include specialists, engineers, artificers, technical workers, and contract employees associated with various research projects. In addition, the faculty members at the center are jointly appointed with the other departments where they offer courses and supervise graduate students related to their relevant expertise. Since 2008, the Master of Science Program in Remote Sensing Science and Technology has started for those people who desire advanced specialization in this field in order to further enhance and broaden personal intelligence and technology in remote sensing.
